| CLT and CHDO
Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) are community-based organizations that are certified under HUD’s HOME Program by their Participating Jurisdiction (city, county or state) as affordable housing entities eligible for various HOME Program benefits. These may include such things as operational funding, pre-development funding project funding and access to HUD-funded Technical Assistance. Community Land Trusts, by virtue of their purpose and their tri-partite board structure readily meet the requirements for receiving CHDO designation and, in fact, are exempt from some requirements.
