Community Framework’s Technical Assistance Line of Business helps local community groups and organizations that develop, preserve, own and/or manage many different types of affordable housing. The technical assistance team may perform tasks for clients, but they usually design assistance to build the client’s internal capacity so they can perform their own housing development, program administration or property management functions.
Our range of services include such things as board development, business and strategic planning, organizational development, utilization of technology, correction of compliance deficiencies, training in real estate project development and preservation, rehab and homebuyer program development and administration, and rental property management. Community Frameworks receives grants from public, private, local, state and national funders to support much of the technical assistance work provided to affordable housing development organizations. Often clients commit their own local resources as well.
The Technical Assistance line of business core team consists of senior level practitioners well versed in many aspects of community and housing development. They also frequently utilize auxiliary team members who can be loaned by other lines of business for work requiring specialized expertise. The technical assistance team often collaborates with other line of business teams on projects, working to strengthen a client’s essential capacity while their project or program is being developed and put into operation.
